Jacqueline Fernandez hails from Manama in Bahrain. She was raised within a multiethnic household. The father of Jacqueline's Elroy Fernandez is of Sri Lanka (Sinhalese - Catholic)and her mother Kim is a Malaysian. She has two brothers and one older sister. Due to the conflict in Lanka that her parents decided to move to Bahrain. When she finished her studies in Bahrain her family was granted a Scholarship to pursue a degree at Sydney's University of Sydney, where she pursued a diploma in Media and Communications in Sydney, Australia. With a love of cultures and languages she also was a part of the Berlitz school of languages where she learned to speak Spanish and improve her French as well as Arabic. Miss Sri Lanka 2006 won Miss Universe 2006 competition in March 2006 and she was also crowned Miss Universe 2006 also. In 2006 she won her the Miss Sri Lanka title. After that, she went on television as a host of the show about Sri Lankan business named Lanka Business Report. Padukone (the daughter of the badminton players Prakash Padukone) was born and grew up in Bangalore. In her teens she played in badminton championships at national level. But, she resigned from the game to become designer. Padukone hails from Mangalore and her mother tongue is Konkani. Her family ancestors are from the village of Padukone within the Kundapura Taluk, in the Udupi district of Karnataka state in India. His father, Prakash Padukone, is an ex-badminton player with international repute, and her mother is a travel agent.
